Why Body Control Pilates® ?

The Body Control teacher training course is the most comprehensive of its kind in the world and Body Control Pilates® is recognised for the effectiveness and quality of its teaching. Body Control was the first specialist Pilates training provider to receive approval against the national standard and is endorsed by REPS (Register of Exercise Professionals).


Body Control Pilates® Classes:

Body Control teachers work with the following principles in mind: Concentration, Relaxation, Breathing, Alignment, Centering (core stability), Co-ordination (control), Flowing Movements and Stamina.

Before your first class you will be asked to complete an enrolment form giving details of any injuries, illnesses, limitations etc so that the teacher can ensure that you are exercising safely. Class sizes are guaranteed to be small ensuring that there is close supervision and support from the teacher throughout.

Bearing in mind the principles of Pilates as above you will be guided through a set of exercises appropriate to your level of ability by way of demonstrations, vocalisations, gentle hands-on guidance and support.

All necessary equipment for the class will be provided for you.

The classes are taught with a progressive approach meaning that you will be taught good movement skills step-by-step ultimately giving you the strength and flexibility to move onto more advanced classical Pilates exercises.


Body Control Pilates® 1:1 Sessions:

You may be advised to have a 1:1 session with your teacher initially or you may prefer private 1:1 sessions. You will be taken through a session (usually 1 hour) still bearing in mind the principles of Pilates but with exercises specific to your body requirements.
